Northern Spain, 1935. A young teacher arrives in a remote village in Burgos. Antoni Benaiges is a charismatic educator who, with his modern, child-centered teaching methods, gives his students wings to soar. One day, he promises to show them the sea—something none of them have ever seen before.
Seventy-five years later, a young woman arrives in Burgos. Adriana suspects that the mass grave from the Spanish Civil War, currently being excavated there, might hold the remains of her missing great-grandfather. As she endures the agonizing wait, she stumbles upon the teacher’s shocking yet true story.
