A találkozásból egy új film született, a Kenyér és virág, amelyben a két férfi megpróbálta rekonstruálni a régi incidenst. A dokumentarista és fikciós elemeket rafinált módon vegyítő film az emberi érzelmek legmélyebb rétegeihez is eljut. Az iráni új hullám egyik alapműve, amelynek záróképét máig sokat idézik.

As a teenager demonstrating against the rule of the shah, Mohsen Makhmalbaf injured a policeman. Two decades later, the discharged cop attended a casting call for Salaam Cinema. A new film, A Moment of Innocence, came out of the meeting, where the two men try to reconstruct the long-ago incident. The picture cleverly blending documentary and fictional elements also plumbs the depths of human emotions. It represents a fundamental work of Iranian new wave, the closing freeze-frame sequence of which is still often cited.
