“Why can’t I let go of control and dare to live spontaneously?” Kiki’s question sets the game in motion. She assigns roles and lines to the other members of her psychodrama group, who help her act out scenes from her own life. In the warm, accepting atmosphere of the group, guided by the inspired direction of the facilitators, she gets to relive these experiences, this time with her whole heart. The tragedy that unfolds through Kiki’s story is one of many everyday tragedies in Central and Eastern Europe.

János Xantus’s final film offers an unusually intimate portrayal of how a psychodrama group works and how the therapeutic process unfolds, something rarely seen on film.
